The Heat Straps’ Heavy Hooded Workhorse V12 isn’t trying to reinvent workwear—it’s refining it to its most honest form. Built in New Jersey by Heat Straps, this jacket is a no-compromise statement for those who value materials, durability, and purpose over trend cycles.

The shell is cut from 19-ounce brush brown waxed canvas sourced from Fairfield Textiles, delivering serious abrasion resistance and weather protection. Inside, a 20-ounce 100% wool lining provides deep, natural warmth—no synthetics, no shortcuts. The sleeves up the ante with 30-ounce quilted wool batting, borrowed from Heat Straps’ Deck Jacket, ensuring insulation where it matters most without sacrificing mobility.

Every detail reinforces the Workhorse ethos. A #10 solid brass two-way zipper and matching hardware are built to last decades, not seasons. Leather lace hood pulls break in with use, while back gussets add real range of motion for lifting, reaching, and working in the cold. This is gear designed to move, not just look tough hanging on a hook.

Cut and sewn in Heat Straps’ small New Jersey shop, the Workhorse V12 is heavy in the hand and even heavier in intent. Twelve iterations in, it stands as true heritage outerwear—built for brutal weather, long hours, and real work. At $650, it’s an investment in a jacket that won’t flinch when the grind gets serious.
