Chicago-based Haim Watch Company has introduced a groundbreaking new timepiece, the Viajero, designed for those who love to travel and explore. Aptly named from the Spanish word for “Traveler,” the Viajero is built to track 24 different time zones simultaneously, making it an essential accessory for avid travelers and geography buffs alike.
The Viajero showcases a meticulously crafted stainless steel case with a polished finish, accented by brushed details on the bezel. Its minimalist design highlights the striking dial, which is available in three distinct variations inspired by air, land, and water travel. Each dial features a unique topographic texture created using a 3D relief technique, bringing an artistic and scientific touch to its design.
The watch’s dial is further enhanced with applied hour markers and hands shaped like protractors, evoking the precision of map plotting. The sapphire crystal is treated with five layers of anti-reflective coating, ensuring clear visibility and scratch resistance. With a case diameter of 38.5mm, a lug-to-lug span of 45.5mm, and a height of 12mm, the Viajero offers a balanced and comfortable fit. It also boasts water resistance up to 50 meters.
Powered by the reliable NH34A Automatic caliber, the Viajero features 24 jewels, a 21,600 VPH beat rate, a 41-hour power reserve, and hacking seconds for accurate time setting. The movement can be admired through an exhibition caseback, which includes a custom-designed Atlas rotor, reflecting the watch’s global theme.
The Viajero is equipped with a French Epsom leather strap, featuring contrast stitching and quick-release technology, complemented by Haim’s Art Deco-inspired tang buckle. For those who prefer a metal option, a stainless steel Beads of Rice (BoR) bracelet is available for an additional $100, featuring easy micro-adjustments and a quick-release mechanism. Priced at $700, the Viajero will be available for delivery in late Q3 2024.
