Celebrating two decades of innovation, Swiss watchmaker Greubel Forsey introduces the Nano Foudroyante EWT, an energy-efficient and compact design masterpiece. This limited edition, 11-piece marvel houses the brand’s 10th Fundamental Invention—a first in the world of perpetual Nano Foudroyante movements. Encased in a striking 37.90 mm by 10.49 mm white gold case, with the bezel and back crafted from durable tantalum, this watch represents a leap in Greubel Forsey’s Experimental Watch Technology (EWT) lineup.
Engineered to revolutionize the mechanics of energy use, the Nano Foudroyante operates on the nanojoule scale, drastically reducing component count and overall dimensions. With the Nano Foudroyante’s hand completing a full revolution every second, precise six-beat segments capture the rhythm of each second, setting a new standard for mechanical accuracy. Remarkably, this mechanism consumes just 16 nanojoules per jump—nearly half the energy of conventional models, showcasing Greubel Forsey’s leadership in energy management and nanomechanics.
This timepiece is the brand’s most compact, housing just 428 components within a 31 mm movement. The integrated flying tourbillon remains aligned at 12 o’clock for perfect readability. Enhanced with a flyback chronograph and column-wheel control, it also features a 3 ATM water-resistant case and a non-animal material strap with a hand-engraved white gold pin buckle. The Nano Foudroyante EWT, priced at $539,000, is a fitting tribute to Greubel Forsey’s 20 years of pioneering luxury watch design.
