Google has unveiled an early preview of its upcoming flagship smart home device, the Google Home Speaker, set to launch in spring 2026 for $100. Unlike its predecessors, this model is powered by Gemini AI, making it the most advanced device in the Google Home lineup to date. Available in four finishes—Porcelain, Hazel, Berry, and Jade—the new speaker is designed to blend seamlessly into modern interiors while delivering powerful functionality.

Built for speed and intelligence, the device features a processor optimized for Gemini AI, handling tasks such as background noise suppression, reverb, and echo cancellation. A newly added light ring beneath the speaker provides real-time visual cues, signaling when Gemini is listening, processing, or responding. The speaker’s 360-degree audio ensures immersive sound quality, and it can be paired with other Google Home devices or even a Google TV Streamer for a surround-sound setup.
Eco-conscious design choices, such as its 3D-knitted fabric covering, which reduces waste, reflect Google’s sustainability push. The company has delayed the launch to roll out Gemini AI capabilities to existing Google Home devices first, ensuring a smooth transition for current users. Early access testing will allow real-world feedback before full release.
With support for simultaneous device grouping, improved responsiveness, and expressive Gemini Live interaction (available via a Google Home Premium subscription), the new Google Home Speaker positions itself as a future-proof hub for smart living. Rolling out across North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania, it aims to reset expectations for what a $100 smart speaker can deliver.
