Scottish distiller Glenmorangie has partnered with actor Harrison Ford] to produce a limited‑edition single malt. Ford, a longtime Scotch enthusiast, worked with Glenmorangie’s Director of Whisky Creation Dr Bill Lumsden to create a whisky that blends the distillery’s signature highland malt aged in ex‑bourbon casks with a portion finished in toasted Portuguese red‑wine barrels. The unusual cask combination yields a spirit with aromas of tangy citrus, muscovado sugar and apricot, leading to a long, smooth finish.

Ford described the project as “very nice” and noted that he enjoyed contributing to the flavour profile. The whisky is bottled at an undisclosed strength and will be available from May 4 for US$99.99 via glenmorangie.com, ReserveBar and select retailers. Glenmorangie has not specified how many bottles will be produced, but the collaboration underscores the growing crossover between spirits and Hollywood.

With its combination of bourbon maturation and toasted red‑wine finishing, the Harrison Ford Limited Edition offers a different twist on the Highland single malt. Men who appreciate well‑structured whisky — and perhaps the actor’s cinematic legacy — will find a conversation piece in this collaborative bottle. Glenmorangie’s signature spirit is distilled in the tallest stills in Scotland, yielding a delicate, fruity distillate.
For this collaboration, Ford and Lumsden selected casks that highlight those citrus and stone‑fruit notes, then softened the whisky with toasted wine casks to impart subtle tannins and a rosy hue. Each bottle comes with Ford’s signature on the label and is presented in a special box featuring artwork inspired by his conservation work. Only a limited allocation will reach American retailers, making this release appealing to collectors and fans of the actor alike.
