Glashütte Original has unveiled the PanoMaticLunar Anniversary Edition, a timepiece that celebrates 180 years of Saxon watchmaking with a bold, platinum execution limited to just 180 pieces. Known for its off-centered dial layout, Panorama Date, and moon-phase complication, the PanoMaticLunar has long been one of the brand’s most recognizable collections. Now, it evolves with new materials, refined details, and a significant mechanical upgrade.

At 40mm in diameter and 12.8mm thick, crafted entirely in platinum, the case exudes weight and prestige while maintaining wearability. The aventurine glass dial is the star of the show, shimmering like a starry night sky with copper inclusions and paired with a mother-of-pearl moon floating across its surface. The signature Panorama Date remains, balancing the asymmetric dial layout with precision and elegance.

Powering the Glashütte Original watch is the new in-house calibre 92-14, which replaces the long-serving 90-02 movement. This automatic calibre features a silicon balance spring, which provides resistance against magnetism and temperature fluctuations, while extending the power reserve to 100 hours—more than double that of its predecessor. Visible through the sapphire caseback, the movement features traditional Saxon finishing, complemented by a modern galvanic grey coating for added depth and contrast.
Paired with either a blue Louisiana alligator strap or a synthetic option, both secured by a platinum clasp, the Glashütte Original PanoMaticLunar Anniversary Edition is priced at $39,500. With its fusion of heritage, technical innovation, and poetic design, this release cements Glashütte Original’s reputation as one of horology’s most refined storytellers.
