Swiss luxury watchmaker Girard-Perregaux has partnered with Bamford Watch Department to pay homage to its classic 1975 Laureato watch. This new, limited-edition capsule collection, the Girard-Perregaux x Bamford Watch Department Laureato Ghost, is an updated timepiece claiming the DNA of its predecessor, but with updates and a fresh contemporary colorway. The 38mm shell is coated in technical white ceramic and boasts scratch and stain-resistant properties. Recognized for its stealthy black designs, Bamford embraced the opportunity to embark on a new challenge alongside the Swiss brand by creating a white timepiece. Bamford’s signature black color, instead, is present in the baton hands, inner flange, and hour markers.
Inside the Girard-Perregaux is a self-winding Calibre GP03300-0139 movement, featuring intricate detailing and high-end finishes, including circular graining, Côtes de Genève motif, bevelling, engraving, and snailing. Respecting the aesthetic of the original Laureato, the new 45th anniversary Ghost has a clean dial with luminescent material added to its hands and hour markers to assist with nighttime timekeeping. During the daytime, the anti-glare properties of its sapphire crystal glass front provide a clear view of features like the date aperture at 3 o’clock. Only 45 pieces of the 45th anniversary Laureato Ghost are available for purchase.
