To mark the 21st anniversary of its flagship Session Lager, Full Sail Brewing is toasting the past and looking forward. The Oregon brewery has unveiled a retro packaging design that harkens back to the bold label first used when Session debuted in 2005. Gone is the stubby bottle; instead, the beer will be packaged in 12‑ounce cans that carry the throwback graphics. Alongside the packaging refresh, Full Sail is expanding the Session family with two new lagers: Session Japanese Rice Lager and Session West Coast Lager.

The Japanese Rice Lager is brewed with rice for a lighter body and is hopped with Sorachi Ace, a variety known for lemon zest and delicate herbal notes. The result is a crisp, dry beer with subtle citrus and spice. In contrast, Session West Coast Lager leans into an all‑malt base and layers Anchovy and Mosaic hops for bright citrus and tropical aromas paired with a clean bitterness.

Both beers will be sold in six‑packs and fifteen‑packs of 12‑ounce cans, complementing the original Session Classic Lager. Full Sail CEO Pat Tiernan notes that the new lagers underscore the brewery’s focus on bold flavor, easy drinking and lower ABV—beers meant for backyard barbecues or mountain hikes.

With packaging that nods to its origins and new styles that push flavor in different directions, Full Sail is using Session’s 21st birthday as an opportunity to refresh its portfolio.
