Frederique Constant is adding a travel-ready complication to one of its longest-running enthusiast collections with the new Classics Runabout Automatic GMT. Created in partnership with the Riva Historical Society, the latest limited edition continues the brand’s tribute to the elegant wooden runabout boats that defined luxury boating in the early 20th century while introducing a practical second-time-zone display.

The watch is housed in a polished 42mm stainless steel case measuring 12.85mm thick and remains faithful to the refined proportions that have defined previous Runabout editions. Buyers can choose between two distinctly different personalities: a navy-blue dial paired with a black rubber strap or a warm brown dial complemented by a brown leather strap with a folding clasp.

Both versions feature a textured dial inspired by the wooden decks of classic runabouts, accented by applied luminous indexes, polished hands, and a discreet date display positioned at 6 o’clock. A red-tipped GMT hand circles a 24-hour chapter ring, allowing travelers to track a second time zone without disrupting the clean, symmetrical layout.

Powering the watch is Frederique Constant’s automatic FC-350 caliber, which combines the brand’s proprietary GMT module with a proven Swiss automatic base movement. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, it offers a 38-hour power reserve while remaining easy to operate through the crown. The movement is visible through a sapphire exhibition caseback engraved with the Riva Historical Society flag, reinforcing the watch’s connection to the historic boating organization. Like previous Runabout releases, each piece arrives in a presentation box accompanied by a miniature wooden Runabout boat.

Collectibility remains part of the formula. Each dial variant is limited to 888 pieces, continuing a tradition that has defined the Runabout collection since Frederique Constant partnered with the Riva Historical Society in 2013. Rather than relying on overt nautical styling, the watch balances subtle maritime cues with everyday wearability, making it equally appropriate for business travel or weekend use.

Priced at CHF 1,995 (approximately $2,460), the Frederique Constant Classics Runabout Automatic GMT is available through Frederique Constant boutiques and authorized retailers worldwide.
