A phone can play almost anything, which is sometimes the problem. The Fosi Audio DAP Neo returns portable music to a dedicated music player, with a physical control wheel, an uncluttered interface, and no streaming subscriptions to manage.

The compact player introduces Fosi’s Moment family, a line centered on intentional listening. Its full-metal chassis is machined using five-axis CNC equipment, while a 2.4-inch color display shows the music library. A Cirrus Logic CS43198 digital-to-analog converter handles playback, with support for FLAC, WAV, DSD, MP3, APE, and M4A files. Output is rated at 129mW through the standard 3.5mm headphone jack.

Wireless listening is available over Bluetooth, although its SBC codec is less ambitious than the player’s wired high-resolution credentials. The device weighs no more than 2.65 ounces and is approximately 0.42 inch thick. A battery rated for up to 12 hours makes it practical for commuting, and the supplied microSD card can be replaced with one holding up to 256GB. The simplicity is deliberate: unlike a multipurpose smartphone, this portable music player is organized around local files and tactile navigation.
The DAP Neo is listed at $79.99 with a 16GB card or $119.99 with 64GB. U.S. availability varies by configuration.
