Flipper Devices is expanding beyond the hacker-tool reputation of the Flipper Zero with Busy Bar, a physical desk display built to make focus time visible. Rather than adding another software notification to the pile, the device uses a front-facing 72 × 16 LED pixel screen to show status messages, countdowns, and timers that coworkers, roommates, or family members can understand at a glance.

The concept is simple, but the hardware gives it more range. Busy Bar can run Pomodoro sessions, mute notifications, trigger “Busy Mode” automatically during calls or app launches, and display custom messages when someone needs uninterrupted work time.

A secondary rear display lets the user check status, battery, and connectivity without turning the device around, while mobile and desktop apps bring it into a broader workflow.

Matter compatibility is the feature that moves Busy Bar beyond a digital “do not disturb” sign. Because it can connect with major smart home platforms, a focus session could dim lights, change room settings, or trigger other automations. Flipper is also keeping the product aligned with its enthusiast base through open-source customization and an open API for third-party apps and integrations.

Busy Bar opens for sale and begins shipping on July 14, 2026. The standard price is $249, while waitlist buyers can purchase it for $179. For home offices, studios, and shared workspaces, it offers a more tangible way to manage attention than another calendar status or Slack icon.
