Most wireless headphones add padding and bulk to make long listening sessions comfortable. The new Final Porta goes in the opposite direction, using an exceptionally spare frame to bring its weight down to just 1.4 ounces.

The Japanese audio specialist calls the design Air Wire. Rather than a conventional padded band pressing against the top of the head, a single slender wire supports the two on-ear housings while minimizing contact. The exposed structure recalls the featherweight headphones once paired with portable cassette players, although the electronics are entirely contemporary.

Bluetooth 5.4 handles the wireless connection, with SBC and AAC codec support. The compact battery provides up to eight hours of playback, and USB-C charging takes approximately 90 minutes. IPX4 splash resistance makes the headphones suitable for commuting and light exercise, but there is no active noise cancellation or sealed over-ear isolation. That trade-off is central to the concept: comfort through less material, rather than more cushioning.

The Porta’s ear pads come in black or orange, giving the restrained frame a graphic accent. Japan-based preorders began October 16, with sales scheduled for October 23 at ¥12,800 including tax.
Final has not confirmed a U.S. launch date or American retail price.
