This spring, Farer introduces the Banzare GMT, a standout addition to its GMT collection with a unique flair, thanks to its first-ever textured dial. This limited-edition piece draws its name and inspiration from the historic British Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition, capturing the spirit of adventure and exploration.
The Banzare GMT features a distinctive 3D ridged texture stamped into the dial, setting a dramatic backdrop for its rich plum-purple coloration. A layer of clear lacquer adds depth and gloss, transforming the hue into a striking mulberry with a metallic sheen. This bold aesthetic is complemented by applied hour markers and sword hands, all coated with luminescent material for easy low-light reading. A vibrant orange 24-hour hand and a blue GMT scale encircle the dial, enhancing its functionality and style.
Housed in a 39.5mm stainless steel case, the watch mirrors the size and design of other Farer’s GMT line models, like the Meredith, featuring brushed lugs and polished flanks. With its knurled grip, the substantial crown lends a robust pilot’s watch feel, apt for an explorers-inspired watch.
Inside, the Banzare GMT is powered by the Sellita SW330-2 ‘Top Grade’ movement, known for its 56-hour power reserve and precision. The intricate workings can be admired through a sapphire exhibition caseback. Sold with a leather strap equipped with a quick-release system that runs from $1,455. An optional steel bracelet is available for an additional $25, bringing a touch of versatility to this exceptional timepiece. With only 150 pieces available, the Banzare GMT promises exclusivity and craftsmanship that are worth the investment.
