Ducati has released details on the new Multistrada V2 motorcycle. The Ducati Multistrada V2 is described as the “ideal bike to enjoy every route.” It’s a versatile, sporty motorcycle suitable for commuting around town or long-distance travel. Changes to the Multistrada V2 include losing weight, the latest Testastretta Twin engine, and lower ride height. Starting with the engine, the Ducati Multistrada V2 features the 937cc Testastretta twin-cylinder engine producing a healthy 113-hp at 9,000 rpm and 71 lb.-ft of torque. Improving the performance is a new 8-inch hydraulic clutch and an updated gearbox for more precise shifting. Front forks measure nearly two inches in diameter and provide 6.7-inches of travel. In addition, Ducati stated that the motorcycle is 11-pounds lighter than the outgoing model, with nearly five of those pounds in the engine alone. In total, the Multistrada V2 tips the scales at 438 pounds or 445 pounds for the V2 S spec.
The new Ducati Multistrada V2 sits at 32.7-inches off the ground with a redesigned saddle. The seat is compact and narrow, allowing the rider’s legs to reach the ground for better stability and control at low speeds. In addition, Ducati offers a lower suspension kit dropping the seat height to 31.1-inches. Standard safety features include ABS cornering, Ducati Traction Control, and four riding modes: Sport, Touring, Urban, and Enduro. One new feature is Ducati’s Brake Light system which automatically flashes the rear light during sudden braking. The Ducati Multistrada V2 will be available in the U.S. and Canada this December.
