Ducati unveiled its latest variant of the Diavel 1260 S for 2022, dubbed the Black and Steel. This new Diavel 1260 S offers the best of both worlds for riders who want to look stealthy yet noticeable. Ducati manages to do this with the color yellow. The primary color of the Diavel 1260 S Black and Steel is flat-black, but the frame and lower tail are dressed in bright yellow. Gloss silver also plays a role in complementing the bike’s Bad to the Bone aesthetic. This color scheme is unique to the Black and Steel variant. The standard Ducati Diavel 1260 S is dressed in stealth black. A touch of gold is featured up front thanks to its Ohlins suspension while riding on Marchesini forged rims. According to Ducati, the Black and Steel Diavel 1260 S was inspired by the 2019 “Materico” concept displayed during the Milan Design Week and Motorcycle Art and Design (MOARD) exhibition. Regardless of which variants riders choose, both feature the same powertrain.
The 2022 Ducati Diavel 1260 S Black and Steel is powered by a Testastretta DVT 1262 engine, capable of producing 157-horsepower and 95 lb.-ft of torque to power the Diavel’s 240 mm rear wheel. Standard equipment on the 2022 Diavel 1260 S Black and Steel includes Ducati’s Ride by Wire (RbW) system. The RbW provides riders with three riding modes and three power modes to personalized engine response. Other equipment includes daytime running lights, cornering ABS, and Ducati’s wheelie and traction control for safety. Ducati buyers will be able to order their own Black and Steel Diavel 1260 S as early as September 2021.
