DJI has unveiled the Mic 3, a mini-sized wireless microphone system that manages to shrink in size and weight without sacrificing the advanced features creators expect. Weighing just 16 grams per transmitter, the Mic 3 is half the size of its predecessor, the Mic 2, yet introduces powerful upgrades for videographers, podcasters, and content creators.

Among the standout improvements are two adaptive gain control modes that adjust automatically to suppress volume spikes in loud environments or balance voices in quieter indoor settings. Three customizable voice tone presets—Regular, Rich, and Bright—ensure users can match audio profiles to different speakers and scenarios. Storage capacity also jumps significantly with 32GB of internal memory, supporting both 24-bit and 32-bit floating-point dual-file recording for greater flexibility and reliability.

The DJI Mic 3’s compact design doesn’t mean compromise. Built-in backup recording, a receiver touchscreen, and a 400-meter range make it a professional-grade solution in an ultra-portable form. It can connect up to four transmitters and eight receivers simultaneously, while two-level active noise cancellation keeps background sounds in check.

Battery performance strikes a balance between DJI’s earlier models, offering 10 hours of flight time for the transmitter and 8 hours for the receiver. With the charging case adding 28 more hours, creators can stay powered on extended shoots. Starting at $219, the Mic 3 may be a pricier upgrade, but it’s also DJI’s most refined wireless mic yet—one that manages to blend portability, performance, and pro-level control in a pocket-sized package.
