Our first impression of the Flannel-lined Waxed Trucker Jacket is that it is rugged. Crafted from waxed, weather-resistant Martexin 7 oz. sailcloth from New Jersey, it’s very apparent that this jacket can take whatever you throw at it. Like leather, waxed cotton takes on a unique patina over time, so the jacket changes and, we would argue, gets better with age and use. Even with just a week of use, we could see unique wear patterns starting to appear.
Cut, sewn, and finished in Los Angeles, the jacket is really practical. A hanger loop makes it easy to grab and throw on as you walk out the door, while two welt hand pockets, a button-flap chest pockets, and interior media pocket offer plenty of storage for your EDC.

After wearing the jacket everyday in unpredictable fall weather, we can say confidently that this is a piece that can be worn all fall and spring, and probably most of the winter depending on where you live. Fully lined with a soft, striped blanket lining, the jacket can be worn comfortably with just a t-shirt on a warmer day, but can also be layered as it gets colder. Even with the flannel lining, it’s surprisingly thin and bulk-free. On days when the weather warmed up and we had to remove the jacket, it wasn’t a pain to carry around the way a heavier jacket might be.

In terms of fit, the sleeves are a bit longer than traditional trucker jackets, which provides more range of motion. It’s also longer in the waist than other similar styles we’ve tried. This makes it feel more versatile from a style perspective, and is part of the reason we felt comfortable wearing it in so many different situations. That bit of extra length just helps to make it feel more polished. Sizing depends a bit on how you plan on wearing the jacket. If you live in a warmer climate and plan on generally just wearing it over a t-shirt, Huckberry recommends going with your normal size. But if you plan on layering, you may be more comfortable if you size up.
