Spring 2022 Men's Style Trends - IMBOLDN
Go to Top

Shake off those parkas and scarves, it’s time for spring 2022 men’s style trends. This season is all about renewal with materials that are lighter to accommodate the warmer weather that’s on the way. After all the difficulties in the past couple of years, people are truly ready to branch out in some daring fashions to show off their true selves. It’s all about wearing styles that are creative, optimistic, and personalized to your taste. Most importantly, they just make you feel good when you’re out and about. Here are the spring 2022 men’s style trends straight off the runways, right to your door.

Sleeveless Sweaters

A great piece to get you through semi-warm weather is the sleeveless sweater. You know, when you look out your front door and don’t have any idea what the weather will be like on any given spring day? This look was a big hit during Fashion Week, with designers like Prada, Dior, and Erdem showing off knitwear that’s lightweight enough for spring. Most of these sleeveless sweaters have patterns and textured designs that are anything but ordinary. The neckline is either v-neck or round, which is really a matter of personal preference. You don’t have to layer anything with this style of sweater, since it’s meant to be worn alone with your best denim, shorts, or khaki pants.

Try this statement sleeveless sweater, the Etro Silk Waistcoat With Knitted Inserts ($920) in 100 percent silk. Luxe and bold, the colors are perfection with an all-over paisley pattern and contrasting v-neck knit design along the top. Or go for the Paul Smith ‘Summer Stripe’ V-Neck Sleeveless Sweater ($445), with its bold striped patterns in all different colors. This sweater is considered one of Paul Smith’s “Rarities” since only around 100 of them were made, so if you love it, you better order one as fast as possible before they sell out.

Neon Colors With Bold Prints

It’s back to the 80s with neon colors and bold prints permeating all types of fashion these days. That means electric greens, hot pinks, bright oranges, and Kool-Aid yellows are all the rage with these trends being demonstrated in looks from head-to-toe. Louis Vuitton even got in on the trend at their shows with a jacket and pants look in ombre colors that seemed like they were pulled right out of the brightest rainbow.

To get this look yourself, the easiest way to do this is with a t-shirt that’s fun and edgy. Psycho Bunny Men’s Andrew Tee ($55) in Acid Lime with their logo framed by colorful circles is the perfect shirt for spring 2022 to highlight this trend.

The Varsity Jacket

Spring isn’t that warm in some of the northern areas, so you’ll still need a nice-looking coat that’s lightweight for cooler nights. Enter the varsity jacket. It’s exactly the jacket you wore as a teen in high school, if you were a jock who lettered in sports. Maybe you lent it to your girlfriend back then, but it’s definitely an item you want to covet now.

You’re probably not going to lend your lady the Burberry Letter Sleeve Technical Wool Varsity Jacket ($2790) because this bad boy should be all yours. The colors are Oceanic Blue and black for a classic style that will keep you all toasty warm on those chilly spring nights.

Skirts and Skorts

Do you dare wear this fashion trend? Why not? It’s bold, freeing, and will absolutely make a statement wherever you go. Skirts and skorts, a combination of shorts and a skirt, were a big deal on the men’s runways for spring 2022. Many designer brands are going all in on the skirt look, and you can probably thank Harry Styles for wearing one on the cover of Vogue last year.

Prada’s Spring/Summer 2022 Men’s Collection has one that’s a combination of shorts and a skirt (skort!) on the shorter side in the Prada Pink Jacquard Knit Shorts ($1850). They have bold square geometric patterns all over them and a belt at the top.

Tailored Linen Suits

After being at home for much too long, smart-looking workwear is making a comeback at the office. A tailored linen suit is the way to rock this look for spring. If you don’t have a nice one, it’s time to step up your game and get one from any number of designer brands. A suit is an investment in the type of man you aspire to be.

As part of their latest collection, the Dolce & Gabbana Linen Taormina-Fit Suit ($3095) is the perfect example of this trend. In light beige, this suit is going to take you through spring with style and ease. Wear it with a tie, a t-shirt, or however you’re comfortable in making this exceptional suit your own in this two-button style with gorgeous visible stitching.

Oversized Bermuda Shorts

Over the knee, oversized, and made of comfortable materials, these new Bermuda shorts aren’t your grandfather’s pair. Find a fun pair with a pattern for extra flair and drama, no boring khaki-colored or white Bermudas allowed.

The Loewe Bermuda Shorts in Anagram Jacquard Fleece ($1550) are perfection with a drawstring waist in that oversized style that’s pure comfort. Black and green designs all over these shorts with zipped side pockets are meant to be worn with t-shirts, a sweater, or even a trendy cutout top.

Fendi Bermudas Black Jacquard Trousers ($1750) are a cool pair with black reflective-looking material that’s made of cotton, linen, and silk. With an elastic waist, oversized pockets, and the Fendi Earth motif in different shades of blue and black, this is a pair that’s uber stylish and can be worn with just about any shirt.
