Citizen has introduced three new Eco‑Drive solar chronographs that blend vintage racing aesthetics with modern sustainability. The reference numbers CA4764‑57A, CA4764‑57E and CA4766‑51L share a tidy 39.6 mm stainless‑steel case and a sapphire crystal, with integrated tachymeter bezels that evoke mid‑20th‑century chronographs.

Unlike many of the brand’s solar models, these chronographs forgo the ‘Eco‑Drive’ legend on their dials, leaving a clean aesthetic punctuated only by applied hour markers and contrasting sub‑dials. Underneath, the reliable B620 solar‑powered movement offers ±15 seconds per month accuracy and 1/5‑second chronograph timing without the need for battery replacement.

Each version delivers a distinct personality. The CA4764‑57A pairs a matte white dial with black registers and a black bezel, delivering a classic panda‑dial look. The CA4764‑57E inverts the palette with a black dial and white registers, while the CA4766‑51L combines a sunburst blue dial with silver registers and a matching blue bezel. All three models feature quick‑adjust pushers, screw‑down crowns and 100‑meter water resistance, making them suitable for daily wear. The 39.6 mm case diameter and 11.7 mm thickness allow the watches to slip under a shirt cuff, and the solid link bracelets integrate seamlessly into the case.
Citizen will release these chronographs in Japan on April 9 with a retail price of ¥49,500 (roughly $310) each. While the company has not confirmed international availability, the combination of restrained dimensions, solar convenience and vintage cues suggests the watches could find an audience among collectors seeking accessible mechanical‑style chronographs without the maintenance burden.
As part of Citizen’s ongoing push toward sustainable watchmaking, Eco‑Drive technology continues to demonstrate how solar technology can be packaged in a refined design.
