British watch brand Christopher Ward has unveiled its C63 True GMT, the first time the marque has produced a fully in‑house travel GMT calibre. The new CW‑002 movement took three years to develop and offers a flyer‑style GMT function that allows the local hour hand to be advanced in one‑hour increments while the 24‑hour hand tracks home time.

The calibre runs at 4 Hz, uses twin barrels to deliver a 120‑hour power reserve and is rhodium‑plated with a skeletonised tungsten rotor. A 40.5 mm Light‑catcher stainless steel case frames a layered dial: a partially open bridge reveals the moving GMT wheel at nine o’clock, a small seconds at six, a power‑reserve indicator at three and a framed date at four.

Diamond‑polished hands and applied markers are filled with Super‑LumiNova for legibility. Water‑resistance is rated to 100 m, and the case measures 14.15 mm thick with a 48 mm lug‑to‑lug span.

The watch is offered on a brushed Bader bracelet or a rubber strap. Pre‑orders are priced at $4,135 on the bracelet and $3,995 on rubber, with deliveries beginning in mid‑June.
The C63 True GMT marks a milestone for the brand, demonstrating that a smaller maker can engineer a complex traveller’s movement without outsourcing. Useful details abound, from the engraved caseback to the luminous minute track, ensuring the new model is as practical as it is handsome.
