Chattanooga Whiskey is bringing back its sci-fi bourbon liqueur concept with Batch Alpha-1, a limited experimental release launching June 24 at the brand’s Experimental Distillery in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The new bottle follows Batch Alpha: Intergalactic Comet Crusher, a 2025 release that sold out after leaning into a deliberately strange UFO backstory and an ingredient list far more complex than a standard flavored whiskey. Batch Alpha-1 uses the same 42 ingredients as the original, but Chattanooga Whiskey says the recipe has been reformulated rather than recreated outright. That distinction fits the brand’s Experimental Batch series, where releases are produced in small runs and, once depleted, are not fully repeated.

Batch Alpha-1 is officially described as a time-altered sequel to a bourbon liqueur reverse-engineered from a bottle found in a crashed UFO. The narrative is intentionally absurd, but the production details are more grounded. Chattanooga Whiskey says the liqueur is made with 100% whiskey and 100% whole ingredients, giving its distillers control over the infusion process rather than relying on artificial shortcuts. The brand’s tasting language points toward a citrus-forward profile, framed in the same irreverent tone that defined the first Intergalactic Comet Crusher.

The release also gives Chattanooga Whiskey another way to showcase its 100-gallon Experimental Distillery, a downtown Chattanooga facility used for limited whiskeys, liqueurs, and offbeat spirits produced in batches of 20 barrels or fewer. For drinkers who follow the distillery’s Tennessee High Malt work, Batch Alpha-1 sits at the more playful end of the portfolio, built less as a traditional sipping bourbon and more as a collectible, cocktail-friendly curiosity.

Chattanooga Whiskey Batch Alpha-1 will be available June 24 at the Experimental Distillery before reaching Chattanooga and Nashville-area retailers in the following weeks. Limited quantities are also expected online through Seelbach’s in July. The 750ml bottle is priced at $49.99.
