Cambridge has updated its Melomania A100 true wireless earbuds with an SE model that focuses on acoustic refinement rather than replacing the underlying platform. The $149 Melomania A100 SE keeps the original’s unusual Class A/B amplification and 10mm neodymium drivers, then adds Dolby Audio, a redesigned grille, and a new blue finish.

The new honeycomb grille increases open area around the driver, which Cambridge says produces a more natural treble response. Dolby Audio processing happens inside the earbuds rather than relying on a particular phone, and it can be switched on or off through the Melomania Connect app. A dual-core 240MHz Qualcomm Kalimba DSP handles processing, while Snapdragon Sound supports aptX Lossless alongside LDAC, AAC, and SBC, with playback capability up to 24-bit/96kHz.

Adaptive hybrid active noise cancellation, transparency mode, six microphones, multipoint pairing, IPX5 water resistance, and customizable touch controls round out the daily-use features. Battery life reaches up to 39 hours including the charging case, with both wireless and fast USB-C charging supported.
The combination makes the A100 SE a more conventional wireless alternative to the recently introduced Bose Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds, but Cambridge’s emphasis remains closer to compact hi-fi than convenience-first listening. The Melomania A100 SE is available in black, white, and blue for $149.
