Brew Watch Co. has expanded its Metric Manual Wind line with the Copper, a 36mm stainless steel watch that brings the brand’s espresso-inspired design language to its Swiss hand-wound platform. The New York-based microbrand has long built its identity around coffee culture and compact retro cases, and this release leans into both without adding unnecessary complexity.
The Copper uses Brew’s familiar Metric case, a rounded-square stainless steel design with a TV-shaped sapphire crystal and an integrated-style bracelet. Its 36mm diameter keeps the watch compact, while the hooded lugs and flat-link bracelet give it more presence than the numbers suggest.
The dial is the main update. Instead of the bolder high-contrast layouts seen on earlier Metric models, Brew uses a radial-groove copper finish that shifts toward salmon depending on the light. Matte black hands, applied markers, and a raised chapter ring frame the dial, with luminous inserts adding practical low-light visibility.
Inside is the Sellita SW210-1 b, a Swiss hand-wound movement running at 4Hz with a 42-hour power reserve. Brew displays the movement through a sapphire exhibition caseback, giving the watch a more enthusiast-focused feel than the brand’s meca-quartz Metric chronographs. The manual-wind format also suits the design brief. It makes the watch thinner, more tactile, and more directly connected to the daily ritual that inspired the dial in the first place.
The Metric Manual Wind Copper is water resistant to 50 meters and priced at $875. For collectors who like Brew’s industrial coffee-bar aesthetic but want a fully mechanical expression of the Metric case, this is one of the brand’s most complete executions yet.
