Bose is expanding its open-ear lineup with two new options built around the same idea: keep music audible without closing off the world. The Bose Sport Open Earbuds prioritize secure movement, while the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen) update the cuff-style original with stronger sound and more listening modes.

The $199 Sport uses a soft silicone C-arm grip, IP54 dust, sweat, and splash resistance, tactile buttons, and a seven-hour battery, plus 22 hours from its wireless-charging case. Auto Volume and SpeechClarity adapt playback and calls to changing surroundings, while Bluetooth 5.4 adds multipoint pairing.

The $299 Ultra Open moves to a new driver for deeper bass and higher output, then adds Cinema Mode through TrueSpatial processing. Its battery reaches nine hours, with another 19.5 hours in the case; compatible Android devices also gain Snapdragon Sound and aptX Adaptive.

Both preserve the situational awareness that distinguishes open-ear training headphones from sealed ANC designs. Preorders opened September 19 in multiple standard and limited colors, with general availability set for October 1 through Bose and select retailers.
