BMW is kicking off a new chapter in its history with the 2026 iX3, the first model to fully showcase the brand’s Neue Klasse design language. Debuting at the Munich Auto Show, the all-electric SUV blends futuristic styling with serious performance, setting the stage for BMW’s next-generation lineup.

The launch model, the iX3 50 xDrive, pairs dual electric motors with a 109 kWh battery for a combined output of 463 horsepower and 476 lb-ft of torque. The result: a 0–62 mph sprint in just 4.9 seconds and an estimated top speed of 130 mph. Range is equally impressive, with BMW targeting up to 400 miles on the EPA cycle. Charging improvements are courtesy of new cylindrical battery cells, which deliver 20% greater energy density than before.

On the outside, the BMW iX3 strikes a balance between bold and refined. Gone are the oversized kidney grilles—replaced with slimmer, vertically oriented kidneys that integrate seamlessly with triangular headlights. A wagon-like silhouette, muscular arches, and sleek rear lighting give the SUV a modern yet cohesive aesthetic. Inside, the futuristic theme continues with a 43-inch Panoramic iDrive strip projected along the windshield, paired with a 17.9-inch touchscreen that simplifies navigation and infotainment.
Standard features include wireless charging, two-zone climate control, and keyless entry, while options such as a Harman/Kardon audio system and illuminated grilles offer additional customization. With pricing set to start around $60,000 when it arrives in the U.S. next summer, the iX3 marks BMW’s boldest step yet toward an electrified future.
