Blue Note Bourbon is bringing back both of its honey-cask whiskeys for a third year, this time with more bottles and higher proof. The 2026 Honey Bourbon and Honey Rye Cask releases use American oak barrels that previously held barrel-aged honey, returning mature whiskey to those casks for a finishing period that adds sweetness without turning either expression into a flavored spirit.

The Honey Bourbon uses a mash bill of 70 percent corn, 21 percent wheat, and 9 percent malted barley and is bottled unfiltered at 117.8 proof. The Honey Rye moves in the opposite direction with 95 percent rye and 5 percent malted barley, reaching 119.6 proof. Both are crafted in Memphis after distillation in partnership with Lofted Spirits, with the city’s hot summers playing a role in maturation.

For 2026, Blue Note Bourbon says roughly 2,500 cases of each expression are available, a meaningful increase after the previous two editions sold through quickly. The company is also offering single-barrel versions of both whiskeys for the first time through select retailers.

At $64.99 per 750ml bottle, the pair sits well below many limited annual bourbon releases while offering two distinctly different grain bills through the same finishing idea. Both are available online and in select U.S. markets.
