Bib & Tucker’s distinctive small batch bourbons are well known for their unique flavor combinations, using ingredients from optimal climates and aged in carefully selected barrels. This attention to detail is present in the distillery’s latest release, the historically inspired Bib & Tucker Double Char Bourbon.
Taking its cue from the turn-of-the-century cooking style, when open flames were the go-to heat source, the Bib & Tucker Double Char Bourbon is a suitably smoky spirit with a complementary smooth finish. Aged twice for over six years in total to enhance the savory and smoky notes, it blends a selection of oaks to enhance the rich and deep flavor profile.
First, the Bib & Tucker Double Char Bourbon is aged in new white American oak, followed by a second aging process in a new barrel that has been heavily charred. The result is a full-bodied aroma that combines elements of smoke and toasted oak, paired with background notes of clove and cinnamon.
For the taste, sugar maple and vanilla bring a touch of sweetness encased in white smoke, continuing through to the medium-to-long finish. The result is a complex and meaty concoction that makes the Bib & Tucker Double Char Bourbon a stunning addition to any self-respecting drinks cabinet.
Presented in a striking bottle with an etched design in the distillery’s iconic font, the Bib & Tucker Double Char Bourbon is another welcome small-batch whiskey to enjoy over a cold winter.
