Bell and Ross’ two latest offerings include the high-concept Bellytanker Chronographs #NEGRONITIME & #SPRITZOCLOCK. These limited edition watches are both inspired by two of the most iconic Italian cocktails, the Negroni and the Spritz, highly favored by Wei Koh, the founder of The Rake & Revolution. The Bell & Ross #NEGRONITIME for The Rake, and #SPRITZOCLOCK for Revolution are stunning, celebratory versions of the classic Bell & Ross bicompax chronograph that are well worth raising a glass to. With 2020 in our collective rearview mirror, the Bell & Ross design theme pays homage to a time where sharing cocktails on a Friday evening with friends was not only a possibility but a probability. For the #Negronitime and #Spritzoclock, Wei has taken the colors of favorite summer beverages and applied them to Bell & Ross’ classic chronograph design.
At a slim 41mm, the Bell & Ross Bellytanker Chronograph is a twin register, early 60s pilot’s chronograph classic, with twin large counters for the minute – and running seconds. The case is an ergonomic tool with elongated no-nonsense angled lugs and a proper crown guard alongside the screw-in pushers. The #SPRITZOCLOCK takes on a bright orange hue, similar to the color of a Spritz. The subdials have a darker tone to set off a bit of contrast, and the hands and hour markers are stark white for easy legibility. Whereas the #NEGRONITIME has a panda-like layout, with black subdials at 3:00 and 9:00 and a dial that is somewhere between red and orange, just like the Campari-based cocktail. Each timepiece is matched to a rally strap in a reddish, orange tone that has been picked out specifically to pair with these dials.
