Bamford Watch Department made waves last year when it announced that it would be the official customizer for LVMH brands like TAG Heuer, Zenith, and BVLGARI. The fruits of that partnership have now ripened with the first major collaboration between BWD and Fragment, with the Bamford Watch Department X Fragment Zenith El Primero.
The watch, which will be available at Dover Street Market stores in New York, London, Singapore, and Tokyo, was designed by Fragment’s Hiroshi Fujiwara as a simple yet stylish piece. While the Zenith El Primero contains one of the oldest movements stored in an original steel case with bracelet, the dial is an expression of Fragment’s modern aesthetic.
The 42mm chronograph features a 12-hour counter at the 6 o’clock position and a 30-minute counter at the 3 o’clock position. Small seconds are accounted for at the 9 o’clock position, and the date is also displayed at 6 o’clock on the watch. The watch is water resistant to 100 meters, and the sleek stainless steel case has an anti-reflective domed sapphire crystal that has a vintage look and a modern feel.
