The Bamford Watch Department (BWD), a storied London-based bespoke watch customizing service, recently entered into a historic multi-brand collaboration with modern artist Daniel Arsham, Swiss chronograph manufacturer Franck Muller, and expert engraver, King Nerd aka Johnny Dowell, to create the Bamford Watch Department x Arsham x King Nerd Franck Muller Casablanca. The behind-the-scenes story that led to this collaboration began when artist Daniel Arsham asked the founder of BWD, George Bamford, to customize a one-of-a-kind Franck Muller Casablanca timepiece for him. The end result is the BWD x Arsham x King Nerd Franck Muller Casablanca automatic timepiece.
With a striking Arsham Studio green dial and seconds hand, the Arsham Studio Monogram repeats throughout the design — from the printed dial to the embossed leather strap and hand engraving by King Nerd on the case of the watch. The Casablanca theme comes into play with the incorporation of the Arsham Studio ‘A’ and the Casablanca logo inspired by the legendary film, which are engraved on the case back. The exclusivity of this piece cannot be overstated as there were only five pieces produced. This breathtaking, unique timepiece exemplifies joint artistry and the spirit of collaboration between four leaders in their fields.
