French watchmaker, Baltic, has launched reimagined versions of their original timepieces, the HMS and the Bicompax. The new Baltic Bicompax MK2 & HMS MK2, both with 38mm cases, offer up considerable aesthetic enhancements to each model. While the neo-vintage look typical of Baltic watches is present in the new versions, the real difference lies in the dials. Offered in silver, black and a blue dial with gilt print, these dials are a significant departure from the originals: slightly stepped, with a brushed chapter ring and a matte central dial section.
The other upgrade is found in the strap selection. In addition to a “beads of rice” steel bracelet, there are a wide array of colors available in a strap made of Italian calf leather. While the Baltic Bicompax MK2 is a manually wound chronograph powered by the Seagull ST1901, the HMS MK2 has an automatic movement powered by the Miyota 812A.
