When A. Lange & Söhne released the ZEITWERK in 2009, they shocked watch collectors and enthusiasts around the globe. It was the first wristwatch to tell time digitally with mechanical movement. The new edition of the A. Lange & Söhne ZEITWERK honors the first generation, but it has also evolved significantly since 2009.
The 2022 ZEITWERK features a new caliber L043.6 with seven patents. The updated caliber doubles the power reserve to 72 hours thanks to its patented barrel design with two mainsprings. It also makes setting the hour display easier, which is ideal for travelers frequently crossing time zones.
The new ZEITWERK dial clearly expresses its progressive concept and design. It features the company’s signature German silver time bridge, redesigned in the 2022 version to give the subsidiary seconds dial at the 6 o’clock position more space. The power reserve indicator now exhibits the last 12 hours in red, to display the remaining power reserve better.
The second edition of the A. Lange & Söhne ZEITWERK comes in two new colorways – pink gold with a black dial and platinum with a solid silver dial. Both versions come with alligator leather straps. The pink gold version is black, and the platinum version is dark brown.
