The 2026 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante has officially arrived, and it’s rewriting the rulebook on what a grand touring convertible should be. While the unveiling of a soft-top Vanquish might have been expected, what wasn’t expected is how little compromise came with it. Despite dropping the roof, the Volante retains the coupe’s jaw-dropping specs: an 824-hp twin-turbo V-12, a 214-mph top speed, and a 3.3-second sprint to 60 mph—numbers that put it squarely in supercar territory.

Thanks to a simultaneous development process alongside the coupe, the Volante boasts a chassis 75% stiffer than the DBS Superleggera Volante it replaces, with only a modest weight gain of 209 pounds. Aston Martin’s engineers only slightly tweaked the suspension to account for the difference, preserving the coupe’s thrilling dynamics. The Bilstein DTX adaptive suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes, and ZF 8-speed automatic paired with an electronic locking differential ensure precision handling, whether carving through twisties or eating up highway miles with the top down.

Visually, it’s pure theater. A longer wheelbase enhances the sleek, flowing silhouette, while design details like the semi-floating “Shield” Kamm tail and 13% larger grille dial up both form and function. The K-fold soft top retracts in 14 seconds (and deploys in 16), stashing cleanly without disrupting the car’s muscular profile—and yes, it can be controlled remotely with the key fob.

Inside, the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante is lined with luxury materials, including new quilting on Sports Plus seats or optional carbon-fiber Performance Seats for drivers who crave edge with their elegance. A full suite of tech from the DB12 and Vantage fills the cabin, along with subtle details like a chrome horizon line and a reconfigured center console that adds visual width. Even luggage storage is considered, with a sculpted rear brace accommodating an optional bespoke leather travel set. As for the soundtrack? The optional titanium exhaust system shaves 23 pounds and replaces subtlety with a snarling, high-revving growl that befits the Volante’s personality.

Pricing hasn’t been officially announced, but if it follows Aston’s previous pattern, expect the Vanquish Volante to cost around $460,000—slightly undercutting its biggest rival, the Ferrari 12 Cilindri Spider.

The Vanquish Volante isn’t just a convertible—it’s an experience. Roof up or down, it’s the most unapologetically thrilling open-air grand tourer Aston Martin has ever built. The Vanquish Volante is set to arrive in the U.S. in the third quarter of this year.
