Bow your heads and tip your hats because the king has arrived. The summit of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class has been unveiled. The 2022 Mercedes-Maybach S680 with a more-is-more V12, wearing a set of turbo cufflinks. The Maybach S680 is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 producing 612-horsepower and 738 lb.-ft of torque. The duke in charge of managing this power is a nine-speed automatic sending it to an all-wheel-drive system. Foot to the floor, the Maybach S680 will hit 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and continue to a limited top speed of 130 mph. Any faster than that, and you rattle the silver-plated champagne flutes in the back – we assume.
The 2022 Mercedes-Maybach S680’s unique V12 badging, front grille, and bespoke front bumper allow it to stand out from its V8 variant. The car exterior features flush-mounted door handles, power rear doors and is available in multiple two-tone color combinations. Wall-to-wall Nappa leather, real wood trim, and diamond quilting seats are expected inside the Maybach S680. The car even has its own scent! A Burmester 4D surround sound system and MBUX is part of the rear-seat entertainment system featuring two 11.6-inch display tablets. These Rodeo Drive land yachts will dock at your nearest dealership in early 2022. However, if you live in the car’s homeland of Germany, you can already order one. To give you an idea of the down payment when it arrives in the U.S., the Mercedes-Maybach S680 starting price in Germany is over $200K.
