2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Mercedes-Benz updates their flagship S-Class with a new aggressive look and more technology.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class has always been a technical tour de force, leading the luxury car segment. It’s an aspirational vehicle that has always been at the forefront of the automotive industry, with many new technologies debuting on this large sedan, ultimately trickling down to more attainable vehicles.

The current W222 model debuted back in 2013, and in automotive terms four years is a lifetime. With other luxury manufacturers and more attainable vehicles quickly catching up to the S-Class, Mercedes-Benz has given it a major facelift to keep it fresh and relevant before a complete model change.

The 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class features a new front facia that includes LED Intelligent Light System with Ultra Wide Beam, Road Surface Scan (the forward-looking detection of bumps) and curve-tilting function. Taking a huge step towards autonomous driving, the big daddy Benz also features improved Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Steering Assist, Active Lane Change Assist, and Active Lane Keeping Assist.

The changes apply to the entire range of S-Class models, from the new S450 and S560 models to the performance oriented Mercedes-AMG S63 and S65 models. The uber exclusive and luxurious Mercedes-Maybach models get extensive chrome trim and a new Maybach logo between the louvers of the radiator grill.
