MUJI has carved out a reputation for itself as a leader pioneering minimalist home design. MUJI has traditionally placed the bulk of their attention on creating innovate, space-saving housewares, such as comfortable beds with storage space under the bed boards.
Now, MUJI seems intent on capturing the same magic of their housewares by building minimalist homes. The MUJI Hut is a tiny, special home that is at once both small and spacious. The compact interior of the pre-fab huts are easily installed nearly anywhere you can imagine, and MUJI wants you to do just that by making the MUJI hut “all your own”.
Whether you put it in the mountains, near the beach or in picturesque hills, the next choice to make is your preferred MUJI Hut material. MUJI offers three different designs and materials to choose from, which are wood, cork or aluminum.
Each of the three huts were designed by a renowned designer. MUJI’s Wood Hut is the brainchild of high-profile designer Naota Fukasawa, which features a cot, wood stove, kitchenette, tub and floor-to-ceiling glass windows.
Konstantin Grcic is the mastermind behind the Aluminum Hut, which offers fold-out metal awnings and a stylish, modern look that evokes images of a modern trailer. Last, but far from least, the Cork Hut is the creation of Jasper Morrison, who created a box-like home on top of a solid wooden platform for easy assembly. Each home is available for $25,000.
Wherever life takes you, MUJI has made sure that your home can easily follow the trail you blaze.
